We are conveniently located in the Exeter Executive Park, 19 Hampton Road Suite One in Exeter, NH, only minutes from Exeter Hospital. The Exeter Executive Park is next to Appleseeds Daycare and diagonally across from Churchill’s, about 1.5 miles from downtown Exeter. Our office is in the front corner of the first building.

A brief word about our phones. We have two phone lines and one receptionist. We personally answer the phone from 9:00 to 12:30 and 1:30 to 5:00 Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. If we are tied up on another call or if you call after hours our message machine will provide instructions and options. During business hours, wait a few minutes and call again. After hours, listen to the message for instructions to review your options. If the reason you are calling is non-urgent, we encourage you to use the portal or send an email. 

If you need medical advice or if you have a complicated request, we advise you to make an appointment. (i.e. we do not employ a nurse and in general I prefer to not practice medicine over the phone).

Email is provided as a courtesy, and is not a substitute for in person care. We will try to check email several times a day, but please allow 1-2 working days for a response. Please keep requests short and simple, but be specific. Email is not secure and should not be used to convey sensitive or urgent information.

For Emergencies:  

Dr. Zwaan is generally available on his cell phone 24/7 for urgent advice. (This may vary from time to time, so always call the office first to review your treatment options.  Instructions and cell phone number are provided on the office phone message). 

Minor injuries may be treatable in the office, which may be less expensive and more convenient.  An office appointment for illnesses is often better than urgent care due to access to your medical history and continuity of care.  If in doubt, call the office. 

Many ailments and refills on most medications can wait until the next business day.  Antibiotics, narcotics, painkillers or sedatives will not be prescribed by phone.  In the event that Dr. Zwaan is not available or he advises so, there are several walk-in urgent care clinics in the area.  

For life threatening emergencies, call 911 or seek care at the nearest hospital.
